You may have reached the point where you are exhausted from doing it all and need to hire someone other than your cousin, or a friend of a friend, so you throw up an ad on Indeed.

However, you

  • Don’t have time to check Indeed every day

  • Are overwhelmed by the number of candidates you are getting, or not getting enough

  • Have someone print out the applicants but the resumes are sitting, unread, on your desk

  • Find a few good candidates but they “ghost” you, are no-shows, or just took another job

  • Spend the entire time talking in their interview, rather than the candidate

  • Find the interviewees seem nice, so you hire them only to find they are not really qualified…they just know how to interview well

If any of this sounds familiar, your next step might be to start using some tools and put a process in place to ensure you get enough qualified candidates and save you time.

This does not mean you need to start using a recruiter. They are expensive and tend to throw resumes at you which does not save you time. Start by using these steps to start documenting your hiring process: Six Steps to a Great Hire
